




The purpose
of the West Virginia
Art Education Association
is to advance West Virginia
art education and promote the arts
as essential elements in education programs.
Students in grades 11 - 12 (Division l), Grades 9-10 (Division Il), Grades 6- 8 (Division Ill) can submit a cut-paper collage self-portrait. Students may use any type of paper, any style of art to express their likeness but they may not add any other medium to their work in an 8.5" x 11" format that is a flat, two - dimensional work. Vertical or horizontal formats accepted. DEADLINE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN AWARD IS FRIDAY October 6st. Please mail early to arrive by Friday October 1st in order to get your entries included in the judging. Award winners will be revealed, and artworks will be displayed at the 2023 WVAEA Conference at Fairmont State University, Fairmont, WV October 20-21.
2023 WVAEA Awards
The WVAEA Awards recognizes art teachers at all levels for their outstanding service to the field. Annual awards include Elementary Art Educator, Middle School Art Educator, High School Art Educator, Higher Education, Retired Educator, and Distinguished Service Outside of the Profession.
